This page contains all of the most commonly asked questions we get in regards to our daycare centre.

FAQ

Do you offer a tour of the centre before enrolment?
Centre Tours are not available until a placement is offered. This is to minimise disruption in the centre. We do have a virtual tour available that you are able to navigate and see the Centre here, this was taken in 2021.

 

How long is the Waitlist?
Approximate Waitlist times as of the 13th of February 2024 are:

  • Djidi Djidi (Babies) Age 0-2 Years – 18-24 months
  • Bindi Bindi (Toddlers) Age 2-3 Years – 12 months
  • Yonga (Kindy) Age 3-5 Years – Up to 12 months

 

Do I need to provide my child with food?

You will be required to bring in 1-2 pieces of fruit; Morning Tea, Lunch & Afternoon Tea are provided by the Centre

 

Do you have a high turn over of Staff?

No we don’t, most of our staff have been here for more than 5 years and our longest serving staff member has been with us for 18+ years. We pride ourselves in creating a positive work environment that families can feel confident that their child will build relationships with educators throughout their journey at Duncraig Early Learning Centre.

 

What learning opportunities will my child receive?

Each room develops their own Curriculum based on the children’s interests, culture, family input and community links. We aim to provide a well-rounded curriculum to support all areas of child development. We also provide a school readiness program in the Yonga room, run by our Early Childhood Teacher.

 

Will I get updates on my child throughout the day?

Yes, we used a childcare based app called XPLOR, this app allows you to view everything from what they have eaten, sleep & experiences they have been involved in throughout the day.

 

Do I need to provide nappies for my child?

Yes, you will need to supply at least 4 nappies a day.

 

Will my child have the opportunity to take part in and Incursion/Excursions? Will there be any additional cost?

We endeavour to provide a range of Incursions and excursions throughout the year, if the excursion is not within our local community there might be an additional cost to the family.

Acknowledgement of Country
